The 2016 vintage lives in the shadow of its predecessor but many 2016s are just as good as 2015s, in many cases having a better balance of fruit and freshness. This has a lovely structure with a dark plum and cherry fruit character. Tannins are firm but soften with air in the glass. Medium to full-bodied. Beginning to drink well but could be kept for 5+ years. Serve with lamb, pork, lighter beef dishes or game.
