2005 was a terrific year in Burgundy and most wines are now perfectly mature. This is from vineyards owned by Louis Jadot rather than a négociant (bought in) wine and is one that I picked out at Jadot's en primeur tasting back in 2007. I'm pleased to report that it has not disappointed. Now fully mature it is medium-bodied with ripe black cherry fruit and secondary mushroom/game flavours emerging. The tannins are silky soft and the finish is long. Don't serve with anything too hearty.
